Summary

Arena Ravine one of the new maps made by Valve, not recycled, completely new. This was also one of the first Arena maps when the gamemode was first released. It's symetrical, and takes place in a desert kind of place. The CP is in an open house, just above the walking floor. It's actually the smallest map.

Both spawns can reach the CP easily, you just have to walk left or right, and then you are in the open, where you can already see the CP. There are too many ways to go around the cp, and the "entrances" are best used for tactics, rather then leading to immediately capture.

This map is very versatile, and you won't get to see everything you can possibly use on your first try.


What makes this map unique?

  • It can have a lot of tactic in this, to help defeat your enemy.
  • Lots of places to stand, high, low, bush, hightend areas ect.
  • Well balanced for nearly any class.

Strategies

  • The watchtower in the middle is rarely used, and if you jump outside the window, on the left or right, closly to the window, is a roof, on the CP point. use this to your advantage.
  • Close to your spawn, on the left *RED* or right *BLU* is an walkway that will lead to a lowered roof, in which you can see most of the surroundings of your spawn. Excellent for snipers, but watch out though,

You don't have that much cover.

  • Use the underground when the round begins. It's not that much used at the beginning, use this as an ambush, for scout, or pyro.
  • Engineers can build at the spawn. Use this, to prevent rushers from outflanking you, AND to establish a homebase with ammo and health, because there is NO health on the map.
